40 Days of Prayer: Day 20

Day 20

Topic: Conference veterans

Verse: Psalm 18:2–The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge…

Lord, we praise you for leading and guiding us in every aspect of our lives. As veterans prepare to return to the conference, may those who have experienced rejection in the past release all anxiety into your strong hands, surrendering the need for masks or protective barriers, instead running into the safety of your arms.

May those who have enjoyed success be prepared to reach out to others, remembering that they, too, are in need of a deliverer, that our work is not our stronghold.

You, Lord, are our sure deliverer. You are our rock. In that security, we trust you to provide divine appointments, whether meeting with an agent or editor, receiving a critique of our work, learning from the faculty and others, or simply helping a child reach the button on the elevator or thanking staff and servers with a generous smile. Amen.

One Response to 40 Days of Prayer: Day 20

  1. Thank you for this prayer. I really needed to hear these words tonight.
