How many of you had specific goals to reach in 2013? (Of course the year isn’t over yet-just getting close.) Did you accomplish what you set out to do?

It’s almost over, but it’s never too late. Keep pushing yourself forward. Don’t beat yourself up for any goal you did not attain this year. Work a little harder in 2014 to achieve what you didn’t in 2013. Keep trying and do it with passion. Don’t give up. –Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Galatians 6:9

Or maybe the goal you’d made for yourself wasn’t meant to be fulfilled by you…not yet anyway. Think about it. Pray about it. Maybe that goal wasn’t the direction God had planned for you…or maybe He wants to make you (or your story) stronger before reaching the public. He has a purpose for you, a plan for your life. The main thing to remember is-everything is in God’s time. Make sure you are seeking Him daily to direct you, His will for you, and He will see you through. — For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things He planned for us long ago. Ephesians 2:10

Keep giving Him praise as you move forward in fulfilling your goals to honor Him. In our writing that is the most important thing to remember. Our life, our writing should be all about honoring The Lord, glorify Him and He will bless it. So praise Him while you’re waiting for your breakthrough. It will happen!

Christmas is a week away. A day to celebrate the best gift we’ve ever been given…Jesus Christ. As a child we think about all the toys we’re going to get, but as adults we learn, Christmas is about giving not receiving. And the really cool thing about that is when we give to others we are blessed so much in our hearts, in our lives, that we feel we’ve been given a gift. And we have. So be a great giver this Christmas.

Look around you. God will put others in your path that He wants you to help in some way or another. It doesn’t mean you have to spend money to give something to someone else. Some times that gift you give is as simple as a smile. You’d be amazed what a blessing that would be to someone who needs it at that moment. A compliment or a word of encouragement is another gift you can give without spending a penny. Your words could mean more than all the money in the world, if given from the heart. So think about that this Christmas season and try to give more than wrapped gifts to loved ones and to strangers on the street or in the store. Take time to bless others this Christmas season.

Merry Christmas!
