5 stars! I finished Crossing Oceans just moments ago and the tears are still wet on my cheeks. What a touching, delightful story! Poignant and beautifully written, Crossing Oceans is a lyrical testament to the hope we have when we believe.

Cynthia Ruchti has written one of those rare novels that will live in your heart forever. So achingly beautiful and stunningly written, it's hard to believe this is her debut effort. A romance in the best sense of the word, but as page-turning as a thriller. I LOVED this book!

A woman suffering from life’s circumstances answers the letters of a man searching for a bride. A man trying to find his brother’s killer will stop at nothing to learn the truth and bring him to justice. Sarah has suffered more than any woman her age should. Now, clutching the love letters of the man she plans to marry and her young sister in toe, she moves to a town where prejudice, hatred, love and forgiveness resides, she just has to learn which ones she is going to except.
Paper Roses is such a beautiful title, it had the impression of being a good story. And I was not disappointed. This story truly has some great storytelling in it. While it is love story between two people desperate for reconciliation with their Father in Heaven, it is also a tale of a town suffering with prejudice. Throw in an unpredictable murder mystery with a surprise ending and you have a recipe for a great book. This was a great story and one I thoroughly enjoyed spending time immersed in.

I used to grab a book and read it fast, like eating a bag of m&m’s the more in my mouth the better. Lately, I’ve been taking my time to enjoy each word and sentence that these Christian authors are giving me to enjoy. I know how long it takes to write a book and to read it as fast as I can so I can open another one just doesn’t seem fair.
This book was an excellent bag of m&m’s! The setting is Galveston, Texas. I can see and feel the gray sand there, the old homes that are still standing after Hurricane Katrina. I can smell the salty water on the pages. This is book two in the Weddings by Bella series. The first was Fools Rush In. If you haven’t read it, go get it.
Swinging on a Star continues Bella’s story, but you need not read Fools Rush In to enjoy this story, but you’ll want to go back and get it if you haven’t read it.
Bella has the best job ever. She’s a wedding planner, not just a wedding planner as in all white dresses and wedding cake toppers. She does theme weddings. The wedding she’s planning in Swinging on Star is one of her biggest adventures. It’s a Renaissance-themed wedding and what could be better than having a real heart-throb Hollywood celebrity as the best man? He’s available and so is Bella, or is she? D.J. is her boyfriend, but they aren’t engaged yet. Since trouble? Maybe, I’m not telling.
Bella has this glorious event all perfectly planned, except there are a few problems that crop up. One of them is Aunt Rosa is to be featured on the Food Network Channel the day of the wedding rehearsal. The Hollywood Hunk is staying with Bella’s family and Bella must keep him out of sight of those cameras.
Bella does her best to keep him secret, but a secret that good often gets discovered. Read this book and find out how Bella handles all of this drama and excitement. It’s a good book, don’t read it in one sitting, take your time and enjoy it because the next one isn’t available yet. Thompson is still working on the next book!

Katy's New World is a quick enjoyable read. As a reader, I was hooked from the first page. I wasn't sure if I'd be interested in a girl from a Mennonite community, but Kim Sawyer hooked me. The thought of someone from a Mennonite community integrating into a public high school is quite intriguing. I love how Katy thinks how she'd like to answer, but constantly keeps her mouth shut. Kim Vogel Sawyer writes her young characters as believably as she does the adult characters. Kim has a lovely voice and is respectful to her characters. I enjoyed how everything wrapped up in the end. And was surprised how the novel ended considering how it began. So readers, beware of a little twisting in the plot :-)

She was only sixteen when Nathaniel Cooper shattered her world, leaving town without her after she agreed to elope with him. Four years later, Margaret Garvey is at long last beginning to open her heart to handsome, gentle Andrew Browning. But then Nathaniel returns to the small logging community of Bridal Veil, Oregon. His shocking revelation as to his reason for leaving could destroy Margaret’s belief in everything—and everyone—she’s ever trusted.
In the midst of a desperate soul-search, the young school teacher takes in two orphans on the run from an abusive foster parent. When circumstances point to one of her temporary charges as a suspect in the murder of a local man, Margaret’s position in the community, along with her reputation, is challenged.
It’s been awhile since she fully trusted God, but she finds at this time in her life that only He has the answers to all her questions. She waits and prays, determined to protect the orphaned children while painfully torn between the two men, whose reactions to her situation are in complete opposition. Then a raging firestorm threatens to destroy the town, and both of her suitors are in the thick of the danger. Somewhere in the midst of her pleas for their safety, Margaret sees what her heavenly Father had planned for her all along.
Miralee Ferrell opens a revealing window into historic Bridal Veil, Oregon and the workings of a turn-of-the-century logging community. Margaret Garvey’s story is one of life’s lessons painfully learned. It is a revealing look at the human inclination to resist God’s gentle leading, as well as our tendency to allow our own clamoring needs and desires to override the still, soft whisper of His voice.
An interesting tale with a couple of genuine surprises for the reader. I enjoyed Love Finds You in Last Chance, California by this author, and she doesn’t disappoint with this second contribution to the Love Finds You collection. She brings an entertaining story full of well-rounded characters, packs it with accurate geographical and historical detail, and then peppers in all the right ingredients to keep those pages turning long into the night.
It’s a genuinely good book that lovers of Christian fiction won’t want to miss.

A missionary wife, widowed in the jungle, leaves for the states, mourning her husband’s loss. But after two years pass, bringing with it the birth of her daughter, Danica moves on and remarries, only to have her “dead” husband reappear from the grave. The description of this book really made me sit and up listen. How could a story with this magnitude be brought to a satisfying conclusion?
Deborah Raney is a masterful storyteller, bringing to life characters and their situations until you feel as if you stand beside them, battling their same struggles. My heart just broke several times during the novel, hurting so desperately for the situations Danica found herself in. I read this book in a little over a day unable to put it down until the last page was turned and as I put the book on my “keeper” shelf, all I could think about was leaving those characters, their situations and all they had been through. And the ending, one I never say coming, never could have predicted. This book is truly a stunning example of masterful storytelling. The kind that will “stick to you” and continue to reel you in with its marvelous craft and lesson. A must read for all fiction lovers, you will not be disappointed in this novel!

Carley Marek is forced to take a vacation by her boss, so she heads for Pennsylvania Dutch country and her Amish reformed friend. Entering the tranquil countryside and community of the Amish soon proves to be anything, but relaxing. From a shunning no one wants to forgive to a dying child in need of a kidney transplant, Carley is about to discover what she never expected to find.
I hate clichéd Amish stories and there are so many out there. But, I am so thrilled to share with you a simply wonderful story. A tale fresh with new perspective on the Amish culture. I am a huge stickler when it comes to getting facts right on the Amish, but Beth Wiseman does a marvelous job on accuracy. It was like a breath of fresh air and a story I loved from page one to the end. There was one moment that must have been a typo when it came to changing character perspective, but aside from that it was a great read. The ending will even make you cry (in a very good way!) 5/5 stars!

Tori Sanderson loves her job. She loves the great pay checks and the trendy clothes she buys with them. She especially loves the distinct possibility of a great promotion, but she’ll have to win the favor of an overbearing boss to get it. What she does not love is trying to make it happen with her competition breathing down her neck—both professionally and … well, unprofessionally.
Outside of the office, her closest friends are her sisters. When Joan and Allie decide Tori’s job is taking over her life and it’s their duty to help her find Mr. Right, little sister is in for a rollercoaster ride of change.
She can’t imagine herself with a man like Ryan Adams. No money, no real career, absolutely zero interest in expensive clothes and toys. Still, something about the handsome farm boy sends tingles down her spine. Trouble is, it’s hard for Tori to trust love when her own father didn’t love her enough to stick around.
Pressure builds in the office. Emotions threaten to suffocate her at home. And love comes calling without an invitation. Can Tori release old hurts to make room for new happiness? And will she allow a heavenly Father to show her the love her earthly one did not?
This final offering in Virginia Smith’s Sister-to-Sister series is filled with laugh-out-loud humor on the one hand, and tear-jerking sentiment on the other. It’s a sometimes painful look into the hurting heart of a woman abandoned by every little girl’s natural hero—her daddy. While the author’s style seems light-hearted, there are moments of genuine, bald emotion that make the tale unforgettable. Smith possesses an admirable ability to deliver compelling storylines with messages of faith so subtly interwoven as to be near undetectable.
Good writing, good storyline, good way to tie up a series!

The words of Marlo are being plastered on the Internet, but who is doing it? Who would have ever thought that little words could cause so much turmoil? Listen was a page turning, occasionally bone chilling story. I was afraid when I started the book, it would be the author's agenda to get across the evil of gossip, but rarely was that word even used. And though the author wanted to make a point, she never preached it, masterful storytelling. But I also had a few problems with the book. Several transitions were very poorly done, to where I was searching, not knowing if I had missed something. I felt like I was watching lives unfold, which was great storytelling, but in that unfolding some little details were left dangling and I was a bit confused. I would have liked a stronger Christian message, but in the end the transformation was complete in the characters, I just would have liked to see more of it throughout the book Altogether, I really enjoyed this book. It was a great mystery that had me completely in the dark until the very end. Good writing and a gripping story. I give it a thumbs up 4/5 stars.
