ACFW Conference Prayer: For Conference Veterans

Psalm 18:2 – The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

Our ever-present Lord,

We thank You for the opportunity to gather at the ACFW conference, for the fellowship with other authors, and the time to learn new skills.

No matter how long we’ve penned the stories You’ve placed on our hearts, we still need fresh inspiration from You. We lift up to You the veteran authors who will attend. Give them opportunity to share their knowledge with others who’ve only begun their writing journey. In Jesus name we pray.

  1. Lord, I have been here before,
    and this is why I’m asking You
    to open my heart as a door
    to the gift of something new.
    All the faces are familiar,
    and the messages doth repeat,
    the themes, again, are so similar
    and I doze off in cloying heat.
    But similar is not the same,
    and there are things that I must learn;
    each passing face goes with a name
    whose respect I must humbly learn.
    It’s easy, wrong, to take for granted
    the miraculous where I’ve been planted.
