ACFW Conference Prayer – Editors at the Conference
Psalm 141:2–May my prayer be counted as incense before You; the lifting of my hands as the evening offering.
Dear Father, prepare each editor to encounter You at conference. May they speak truth, along with encouragement and grace, to the writers they meet. Please create divine connections with writers, agents, and other editors. Pair the editors with the writers you have for them and their publishing houses. May they rest well before, during, and after conference, and may they be equipped for the work You’ve given them.

A prayer for editors, one and all,
they form a shining golden link
between the muse’s siren call
and the producers of red ink.
Many’s the manuscript returned
on battered, bloody feet,
scarlet shows what’s to be spurned
to allow it to compete.
I don’t believe editors share
laughing whoops, and “Listen HERE!”
but perhaps they do compare,
and smile over steins of beer.
Still, I must confess that I yet dream
of creating the perfect ‘mean editor’ meme.
