ACFW Conference Prayer – For Those Teaching Workshops

Proverbs 1:5—A wise man will hear and increase in learning, and a man of understanding will acquire wise counsel.

Father God,

Thank you for providing wise counsel to Your children. As these men and women prepare to pass on to others the knowledge You have given them, inspire their words and strengthen their minds and bodies, especially during the strenuous days of the conference.

May they continue to hear Your voice and obey Your instruction. May Your wisdom—through them—be a blessing to all who listen. Amen.

  1. An apple for the teacher,
    and fervent prayer as well,
    since a student turned wild creature
    can make the job a living hell.
    I was once in that same spot;
    the first advice I got was odd:
    do not turn your back a lot
    or you’ll be nailed by a spit-wad.
    But it really should be saner
    to lead a writing conference class;
    with inspired students (a no-brainer!)
    and no grading, fail or pass.
    So, dear teacher, please relax
    (but always check your chair for tacks).

  2. Father God,

    I pray for all those who will be teaching at the Conference. Give them wisdom, understanding, knowledge, and discernment. Strengthen then in spirit, soul, and body. Meet their every need, and every need of their families while the speakers are away from them. Fill them with your joy.

    I pray also that You would prepare the hearts of the learners to receive what You desire to give them through Your teachers. Bless this year’s Conference in a mighty way!

    I ask in the Name of Jesus. Amen!

  3. Amen to the prayers above! Please bless every single speaker who is giving of him/herself to help the rest of us learn. Give them enough energy to teach their workshops, and still have plenty to fully enjoy all the rest of the conference. Keep them healthy, help them sleep so well, let the food nourish them, and help them to feel appreciated for serving this year. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen!
