I’ve read several of Stephanie Grace Whitson’s books and loved each one. Her newest release is an interesting journey from civilized Missouri to the wilds of Montana in 1869.

The unique characters leapt from the pages straight into my heart. She develops them so well, it’s as if we’ve been friends for years. There were characters I loved and characters I loved to hate. And the character growth is wonderful to behold.

The plot has many twists and turns, just as the Missouri River they travel. The great variety of boats they use and the varying outposts they visit add more interest and intrigue. Her setting felt vivid and real to me as I read.

And with all the roadblocks and setbacks, the story has a very satisfying ending. You won’t want to miss this excellent read.
