As I pondered the appropriate topic for this blog, I sat at my breakfast bar with a cup of coffee admiring these flameless candles on the counter in front of me. Imagine, dream, believe blinked in the flickering light. That was it, these simple words could be applied to many areas of life, but I found them the perfect fit for writers during this Christmas season.
Ironically, at the beginning of my writing journey I imagined sitting at my laptop making a list of all the stories I could write. I dreamed about the world of writing and the levels of challenges involved. I believed God would inspire me to write if I trusted Him enough to step out in faith. These valuable words were already active in my heart long before three flameless candles found their way into my home.
Webster’s Dictionary gives logical definitions with clarity:
- Imagine – To form a mental image or picture of, to use the imagination
- Dream – A series of mental images, ideas, and emotions occurring in certain stages of sleep. Daydream. To have an ambition.
- Believe – To accept as true or real. To have faith or confidence; trust. To have confidence in the truth, value, or existence of something.
These words are active in every life on a daily, if not, hourly basis. Possibly, they are as real as breathing, but not as life threatening. The human mind is an amazing creation. The imagination immediately forms a picture at the slightest suggestion or thought. Silent dreams lay dormant until faith springs forth and the power of believing in one’s self motivates action. This is true both logically and spiritually.
Ephesians 3:20 states, “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us.”
- Imagine the immeasurable opportunities available for submissions
- Imagine the acceptance of completed works
- Imagine the joy of success
Numbers 12:6 says, “When a prophet of the Lord is among you, I reveal myself to him in visions, I speak to him in dreams.”
- Dream of conquering every writing challenge
- Dream of learning new techniques
- Dream of publishing contracts
Mark 9:23 reads, “Everything is possible for one who believes.”
- Believe in the impossible
- Believe in God’s ability to inspire
- Believe in the power to make a difference through writing
Whether it’s Webster speaking or Biblical truth, the definitions are similar. However, the spiritual will be more rewarding. Romans 8:31 clearly says, “What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?”

When someone writes an article he/she retains the image of a
user in his/her brain that how a user can understand it.
